Shipping plaintiff Italy’s most hated man
The captain of the Costa Concordia will now have a case against him by the Company which owns the cruise ship crashed.
Costa Crociere, Europe’s largest provider of cruise sailing, was plaintiff in the case against Captain Francesco Schettino, said the company’s lawyer Marco De Luca to Italian media.
lawyer adds that Schettino, who is under house arrest, now officially suspended from service.
Schettino, who by Corriere della Sera described as “the most hated man in Italy”, is already charged with manslaughter as well as having left the vessel before the great 4200 passengers and crew were evacuated.
