Queens Park Rangers midfielder Anton Ferdinand has received a death threat as a prelude to Saturday’s cup match against Chelsea.

English police confirmed Friday that it was in the process of investigating a case at QPR’s training facility and Fulham Chronicle newspaper can tell that the club Friday received a letter addressed to Ferdinand containing a cartridge.

death threat comes a day before, Ferdinand again to play against Chelsea’s John Terry, as he earlier this season accused of having accused him in racist terms.

On Tuesday, Terry must appear in court and defend themselves against racism accusations.

There have been cold air between the two players side, and there was an expectation that the fight would take place in a tense atmosphere, even before the unknown person sent a ball to Ferdinand.
